Clinically Relevant:
  • TX- Abbreviation for transverse.
  • Sagittal- Can be synonymous with longitudinal ...But the correct usage lies when it is in relation to anatomical positioning rather than an implicit relation to the structure.
  • Ipsilateral- Refers to the same side the respective pathology is on.
  • Contralateral- Refers to the other or opposite side the respective pathology is on.
